On Saturday 3rd September, Westside was given the exciting opportunity to do a Little Legends Lap around Suncorp Stadium before the kick-off to the Matilda’s vs Canada match. Parents were busily organising ponchos and the like after the morning soccer games were played in the rain, but thankfully the skies cleared and the sun came out for the afternoon!

40 of our Westside Juniors, including all of our Junior girl players, joined Coaches Rob & Shane in walking on the luscious turf of Suncorp and cheering on the Matilda’s as they ran through their warm-ups. The U9 Brumbies girls were especially chuffed with Sam Kerr giving them a thumbs up as she ran on the field.

Following the lap, our Westside Juniors and Parents enjoyed a fantastic match with the Matilda’s creating plenty of scoring opportunities but couldn’t get the win against the Olympic champions!

A few of the kids were lucky recipients of Sam Kerr’s autograph – something they will cherish for many years! The Club and group who attended the match greatly appreciated the opportunity provided by Football Australia!
