Miniroos Football (Soccer) is designed for children within the age groups of U6 to U11. The aim of the season is for kids to play games in a fun environment against teams of similar skill. There are no competition points awarded for matches.
Juniors football extends the acquired skills into competitive fixtures with divisional grading, competition ladders and finals. While the age groups extend through U12 to U18, Westside are only looking to field teams in U12 & U13.

There are no additional weekly game fees. We have a family discount available for multiple children within a family (only one discount per family – use the discount code wgfc-family at the checkout). We also accept Queensland Government Get Started vouchers.
Fees should be finalised prior to the commencement of your team’s first game. Please contact the club if this will pose any challenges.
Volunteer Levy
Westside Grovely has introduced a Volunteer Levy this season to encourage our families to get involved with the club. The Levy will be refunded at the end of the season to those families who have provided assistance throughout the season. A credit system will be utilised for activities such as coaching, managing, field setups, working bees, committee roles, raffles and the like.
For those families who do not have the time to assist, the club will make use of the Levy to upgrade facilities and equipment for our Juniors.
The volunteer credit policy will be made available to all registered families.
Uniforms
Players will be required to wear their playing strip for all matches. Players may choose to wear any shirt, shorts and socks at training. Due to safety reasons, players are required to wear shin pads and enclosed footwear for all training sessions and games at their own expense (boots are permitted but not mandatory). We have a collection of second-hand boots at the clubhouse that require a small donation should you choose to select a pair.
Playing uniforms will be distributed prior to the first game.
Please advise what size shirt, shorts and socks your child requires on the registration form. A size chart is linked within the form.

U11 Development Squad (NEW for 2021)
In order to encourage player development, Westside will be entering a team in the Football Brisbane U11 Komodo (Development Squad) competition. Trials will be held at the club in late February / early March (TBC). Information will be made available of how to nominate for the trials.
Team Allocations
Apart from Development Squad teams, please advise if there are particular friends your child would like to play with. Best efforts will be made to place children into teams with friends and within age groups upon request, however this cannot be guaranteed.
Coaches and Managers
Each team will require a coach and a manager. Guess what folks? We need your help! The club is always welcome to offer advice and support to those willing to give it a go for the first time. There are many parents and players at the club who have previous experience and are more than willing to share. We encourage you to put your hand up and offer to help. There is a tremendous amount of pride and joy that comes from being hands-on involved in your child’s development within a team environment. If you are interested in helping out for your child’s team then let us know. New coaches and managers will receive a complimentary club polo shirt.
Westside Grovely supports coach development and will assist with information on courses run within the region for individuals to attend.
Note: Westside Grovely requires coaches and managers of junior teams to have a blue card prior to the commencement of activities. It can be organised as an individual direct with the State Government.
