Westside Grovely Football Club was proudly represented at the 2025 Pacific Championships which returned to the Sunshine Coast for its second year. Our club’s representatives were the Under 11 Raptors squad, and for many of the young players, this major event marked their first time competing in such a large-scale carnival.
The experience was a resounding success, offering the team an unforgettable few days of football and camaraderie. The tournament began on a high note with a special privilege: one of our very own Westside Grovely players was selected to perform the ceremonial kick-off alongside the competition officials.

On the pitch, the Raptors held their own against some very strong opposition. While the competition was fierce, the team delivered determined performances and were able to take away invaluable experiences that will prove crucial for their development in the seasons to come.
Outside of the football, the trip provided a fantastic opportunity for team bonding and family fun away from the usual league schedule. The players and their families enjoyed sharing team dinners, going on adventurous hikes up Mount Coolum, and spending quality time on the beach.
The overall feedback from the squad and their families has been overwhelmingly positive. They had a great few days away and, having gained a superb first taste of major carnival football, they simply cannot wait to return for next year’s Pacific Championships!
