Westside Grovely Football Club (WGFC) is thrilled to usher in a new chapter as we officially welcome Jason Hawke as our Men’s FQPL Head Coach for the upcoming 2026 season!

Jason’s appointment signals an exciting step forward for the club as we aim to build on last season and strengthen the foundations for a dynamic future.

Jason brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Westside Grovely. As a coach holding a B licence, he has years of experience in the Queensland football landscape. In recent seasons, Jason was a key part of the coaching setup at Mitchelton FC in FQPL 2, and also boasts previous coaching stints at The Gap FC. This deep understanding of the competitive FQPL structure makes him the ideal leader to guide our senior Men’s squad forward.

Upon joining the club, Jason expressed his enthusiasm and outlined a vision that perfectly aligns with WGFC’s community-focused goals:

“I’m delighted to be joining Westside Grovely ahead of the 2026 season. The club has a great feel to it, and I’m looking forward to building on the foundations that are in place. I’m hoping we can create a real connection between the senior teams and our junior community to create something really special.”

This emphasis on connection and community is central to the club’s strategy. We believe that integrating our successful junior setup with the senior teams is vital for creating a sustainable and thriving pathway for local talent.

The 2025 season showed promise for the club, with the First Team finishing in 3rd place and narrowly missing out on promotion to Logan Village Falcons and Kangaroo Point Rovers. The Under 23s capped off a sensational year by finishing as unbeaten league champions and Grand Final winners. Jason’s primary goal will be to harness this momentum, solidify the First Team’s presence, and, critically, establish a clear, robust pathway for our junior sides to progress to senior football. This commitment to player development from within is the core of our future strategy.

With a new coaching team in place, the club is eager to begin the recruitment and pre-season training to hit the ground running for 2026.
