The wait is almost over. As the grass grows greener and the boots are being dusted off, we are thrilled to welcome our community back for what promises to be the biggest junior season seen at Grovely Sports Ground!

Whether you are a returning player or a newcomer looking to pull on the jersey for the first time, there has never been a better time to be part of the WGFC family.

Leadership to Level Up Our Game

This year, we are investing more than ever in the development of our players. We are delighted to introduce our new leadership team, who are already hard at work ensuring every child has the best possible experience on the pitch:

Kamal Deo (Junior Director of Coaching): Kamal brings fresh energy and a wealth of tactical knowledge to oversee the growth of our young athletes and provide guidance to our junior coaches.

John Theron (Director of Football): John’s vision and enthusiasm for the club ensures a high standard of football across all age groups.

Alan Brind (Junior Coordinator): Alan continues to provide fantastic support for our junior base, making sure the season runs smoothly for every family. If you’ve ever trained at Westside Grovely, you’ve likely met Alan and will understand why he’s such an important part of our community.

Fantastic Facilities to Support our Amazing Community

If you have visited the grounds lately, you will have noticed the massive transformation taking place next to Field 1. We are currently building a brand new clubhouse to match our exceptional playing fields.

The highlight of the new build is a brilliant viewing deck, designed specifically for parents and supporters to relax and cheer on our teams with a perfect view of the action. Furthermore, we are excited to announce that Field 3 will be available to us very soon following a new lease agreement with the council, giving our record number of teams even more space to train and play.

Record Numbers and ‘Come and Try’ Success

Our recent ‘Come and Try’ sessions were a resounding success! Over two weeks, we saw hundreds of smiling faces discovering the joy of football. Thanks to that enthusiasm, we are heading into the season with a record number of teams.

If you missed the sessions, do not worry. Registration is still open! We pride ourselves on being an inclusive community club and we would love to have your child join our ranks.
